The former PINECONES are releasing their first album under the name ARBORLABOR UNION, still the same angular, uncompromising rock. Last November, Pinecones signed with Sub Pop, and today they are choosing to release their new album there, I HearYou. New album, new name. And they have gone from Pinecones to ARBOR LABOR UNION. But that is the only thing they have changed. Their music is still just as stunning, and I HearYou also sometimes brings to mind Qotsa, or Pearl Jam at other moments. Ryan Evers on bass and Ben Salie on drums may make you want to smash some furniture, and that is not a bad thing... as for Bo Orr’s vocals, they are simply incredible.
