Apocalyptica is thrilled to announce a stunning sequel to their legendary debut album, 'Apocalyptica Plays Metallica Vol.2'. For their ninth album, the world-renowned cellists return to their roots, paying homage to heavy metal band Metallica. The album promises many surprises, including a unique collaboration with Metallica bassist Rob Trujillo on the single "The Four Horsemen". It will cover 40 years of Metallica's career through deep cuts and fan favorites. Founding frontman Eicca Toppinen says playing the first album live was more fun and exciting than they expected, and that they wanted to bring a fresh perspective to Metallica's original energy. Lead cellist Perttu Kivilaakso adds that they had been waiting twenty years to be able to make another Metallica album, as there were still many great songs they wanted to play.
