There has always been a hint of H.P. Lovecraft in Antzaat's music, but this time, it's more elaborate. For example, the track "Shores of Madness" is directly inspired by "At the Mountains of Madness." "Folie" was a title that Antzaat deemed appropriate as a generic term for side A. However, the tracks on this side do not form a coherent narrative compared to the Ronarg side. These tracks can stand alone, independent of each other. Decadence, rebirth, and madness are very much present. The band saw a split album as an ideal example to musically diverge from their main material. Ronarg's music dates back to the time when he was studying in Antwerp. He felt the need to create something around the theme of "war." However, he did not have enough knowledge at the time to fully develop this idea. The theme seemed too heavy, and Ronarg could not convey it convincingly enough, so this idea was put on hold. A turning point occurred when his grandmother's house was evacuated. This uncovered a treasure trove of family photos and documents. Ronarg began to ask his father about these memories, revealing fascinating stories from the time of World War I. Ronarg felt a deep sense of connection and mourning for the deceased members of his family, an inconsolable feeling that he could only release through creative expression. Subsequently, Ronarg fully immersed himself in World War I through films, documentaries, poems, and testimonies. He also explored the work of Max Ernst and delved into family archives. Gradually, a musical concept began to emerge. The early songs are quite naive, but by the end of side B, they are imbued with dark feelings and melancholy. This reflects not only Ronarg's naivety in launching this project but also the number of young men sent to the battlefield with a naive, idealized, and heroic image of war. There, they were quickly confronted with reality and horror. "Tomorrow, a day that never comes."
