Romance oubliée

Description

A first album for the young cellist Hermine Horiot, but a masterstroke. Joined by pianist Ferenc Vizi in an eminently romantic program, Dvorák, Schumann, Chopin and Liszt. A beautiful recording that will delight all chamber music lovers. A selection of well-known pieces, played by the greatest, with different moods, but the same poetry carried by the superb sound of the cello, Waldesruhe and Sonatine by Dvorák, Trois Romances by Robert Schumann, Chopin’s great Sonata and Liszt’s Romance oubliée. A very fine interpretation full of feeling and nuance, intelligently built around Chopin’s sonata, which on its own explores all the twists and turns of the romantic soul, its darker side, its forgotten romance like a lost melody one keeps trying to find again. Bravo! A bold gamble, totally mastered. A cellist to watch.
