Danses slaves, opus 46 et opus 72

Claire Désert and Emmanuel Strosser, pillars of the French music scene, come from the same generation of talented pianists. Always in sync on stage as in life, they are recording a four-hand program for the first time: Dvorak's Slavonic Dances, op. 46 and 72. These works are among the pieces that secured Antonin Dvorak a significant part of his fame. Later transcribed for orchestra, here is the original piano version of these pieces, a colorful and exalted expression of the rhythms of the Slavic soul. While the first set (op. 46) focuses on Czech dances, the second (op. 72) is dedicated to dances of diverse origins, drawn from Polish, Slovak, Serbian, Bohemian, and Ukrainian folklores. The pleasure of the two pianists in playing together is evident and is felt anew in each piece, through an extremely sensitive interpretation, full of clarity and depth. This is a program they have performed as a duo for many years and hold particularly dear.
