Annie Philippe, the great rival of France Gall – even in the heart of Clo Clo – has made her mark over time. The spicy blonde, let’s not forget, recorded fourteen 45 RPM singles between 1965 and 1968, including a best-selling album in Canada, a 45 RPM single in Japan, and film music songs: “C'est Loin Domani” and “La Blonde de Pékin” composed by François de Roubaix. In summary, the radiant Annie has sold millions of records worldwide and has been covered by Pierre Lapointe, Lisbonne (with Marie Merlet from ex-Stereolab), the metal band Thérion for “Sœur Angélique,” Bon Entendeur with a remix of “Mes amis, Mes copains,” as well as her immortal hit, “Ticket de quai,” which has almost become the anthem of Tahiti thanks to the local star Gabilou.
