Shamanism, definition: An ancestral spiritual practice present in all cultures around the world since the dawn of time, where the human being (accompanied by their drum and voice) acts as the intermediary between the human and the invisible by undertaking a mental journey, an odyssey through a dreamed/virtual/invisible space to the eyes of ordinary mortals. - - - - - - S.H.A.M.A.N.E.S is an album that, through its multiple little stories, immerses us in the grand narrative, inhabited by real worlds and parallel worlds, with which shamans communicate. "It’s a way to return to a deeply organic, essential sound," emphasizes Anne, "to cultivate the independence offered by the percussion and voices, ancestral instruments that are as free as they are mobile." While she writes, composes, and produces her music alone, Anne enjoys surrounding herself with high-fidelity accomplices. Here, she calls upon Isabel Sörling and Marion Rampal, polyglot singers who carry Anne's melodies with their hearts on their sleeves. She also chooses to invite a second drummer to this peculiar mystical celebration, Benjamin Flament, the inventor of a unique instrument made up of drum elements and several metallophones, "to enrich the rhythmic spectrum." Not to forget the loyal Tony Paeleman on piano and Fender Rhodes, and Christophe Panzani on saxophones and clarinets – both of whom have been with Anne since the album Circles in 2016.
