Description

After Ann O’aro's self-titled debut album, an album centered around intimacy and domestic violence, here comes LONGOZ, presented by the trio formed after the release of the first opus in September 2018: Teddy Doris on trombone, Bino Waro on percussion, and Ann O’aro on vocals. The trio has found a unique sound over the course of their tours. The musical colors waltz from Mauritian séga to Balkan music, from zouk parody to torrid jazz: the maloya from the island of Réunion breathes outside the beaten path and sets the Creole tempo for the incisive and radical lyrics of a woman fighting to assert her voice. Ann O’aro's singing and her moving interpretation take us into her struggle for the decolonization of the body.
