Surrounded by sea – CD sous fourreau

Description

Andy Sheppard expands the lineup of his widely acclaimed Trio Libero project with Michel Benita and Seb Rochfort by inviting Eivind Aarset into the group, who had made a significant contribution to the 2008 album Movement in Colour. With Aarset’s ambient drones and electronic textures in the background, Sheppard and his companions seem to have even more space to explore. The Quartet features new compositions, free improvisations, an Elvis Costello melody, and the traditional Gaelic ballad "Aoidh, Na Dean Cadal Idir," of which the three versions recorded here form the album’s thematic core
