The American pianist Andrew von Oeyen lives between Los Angeles (where he made his debut at the age of 16 with conductor Esa Pekka Salonen) and Paris. Initially conceived as an album celebrating the 250th anniversary of Beethoven's birth, this project ultimately took the form of a recital bringing together two genius composers: Bach and Beethoven. "What brought me back to Bach at the beginning of the pandemic was the fact that his music, more than that of any other composer, expresses order amidst chaos."... Andrew Von Oeyen. The program of this new recording includes Bach's French Overture BWV 831, the Sicilienne and the largo from the piano concerto in F minor in the arrangements of Wilhelm Kempff, and Beethoven's Sonatas No. 13 Quasi una Fantasia and No. 23 Appassionata.
