A high-flying formation that creates a surprise!
Swiss vocal acrobat Andreas Schaerer and Finnish guitarist Kalle Kalima have things in common. As artists, they both belong to a category of their own. They are both musicians who always know how to get something special out of their instrument. Both are known on the international jazz scene for the utterly original and distinctive way their music constantly crosses genres. They have been playing together for several years in the quartet "A Novel Of Anomaly". They have just recorded their first album together, in which they are both the focus of attention. However, for this "evolution" (as the album title suggests), they also called upon - and were inspired by - a musician they both admire, Tim Lefebvre. The American bassist has worked with many pop and jazz stars, including Sting, Elvis Costello, David Bowie, Mark Guiliana, Wayne Krantz... Furthermore, Lefebvre's involvement in the breakthrough of the Michael Wollny Trio is far from incidental. In other words, his playing is at home in virtually any context.
