Sonates Du Rosaire

Description

A double album to discover and understand the first work of instrumental sacred music in the history of music. The first recording of this Baroque work. A must-have for record collections and lovers of the violin. Composed in the 1670s by Biber, these so-called “Rosary” sonatas for violin and continuo, built around the fifteen Mysteries of the Rosary, are a pure masterpiece of the violin repertoire as well as sacred music. Violinist Fabien Roussel, accompanied by the cello of Frédéric Baldassare, the harpsichord of Sébastien d’Hérin, the theorbo of André Henrich and the organ of Éric Lebrun, invites us on a fascinating journey through this particularly original and enigmatic work. A unique interpretation that will stand the test of time!
