Heavy Is The Crown - Vinyl

Description

Anderson .Paak, nine-time GRAMMY winner and GRAMMY-nominated rapper Cordae, have been on the same wavelength for years. What started with a genuine chemistry on the track "RNP" (2019) has gradually transformed into one of the most natural and ego-free collaborations in hip-hop, fueled by gems like "Two Tens" and "Summer Drop," as well as dynamic television performances that evoke more of two best friends spending time together than a meticulously choreographed routine. With their first joint album, *Heavy Is The Crown*, this organic bond finally finds the setting it has long deserved.
At its core, this project is a balancing act between the serious stakes of real life and uncompromising pleasure. The title is not just simple bravado: it directly echoes the weight that both artists share as primary supporters and pillars of their respective families. But rather than letting this pressure stifle them, .Paak and Cordae support each other. As equals, they combine their strengths: .Paak's elastic and soul-infused musicality anchors Cordae's incisive lyricism, allowing both artists to tackle the heavy reality of success and responsibilities without ever losing their spark.
It is precisely this balance that gives the album its strength. To illustrate this complicity, the cover pays homage to the cult comedy *Step Brothers* — a nod to the wacky and irreverent friendship that is at the very heart of this music. *Heavy Is The Crown* never feels like a forced commercial collaboration or a calculated marketing ploy. It is a record that celebrates brotherhood, family, and what happens when two masters of their craft enter the studio, simply because no one else can make them laugh, rap, or create quite like their partner.
