Lamentations

Description

Lamentations is a rumination of 10 songs on the current state of the world around me. I was raised in faith, and the book of Lamentations has always drawn my attention. A broken man crying out to the heavens, asking why God sat by and let his country collapse. Questioning the very existence of a higher power in the lowest moments. How could a God of love stand idly by and leave an entire nation's cry for help unanswered? I saw many parallels between this story and the current climate of this country in 2020. There is a large group of people who were promised something in 2016. They are still waiting for those promises to be fulfilled. It’s a record about the things that break people. Religion, politics, addiction, love, money, family, history. I believe it’s an empathetic look at the other side. A collection of stories about losing everything and finding the will to rise up and fight for the things that matter most. - BJ Barham
