After Night train to Copenhagen in 2021 (a success with a 3rd place on the JazzWeek Top 100 in 2022), drummer Alvin Queen explores the legacy of jazz, stage, and film music that has enriched the American cultural landscape and its global influence with a repertoire representing American music and culture in their many forms. The thirteen chosen tracks cover fifty-nine years of history with six songs from musicals, four jazz compositions, two film soundtrack songs, and one pop song from 1961. One cannot mention American drummer Alvin Queen without speaking of Elvin Jones, his lifelong mentor and main influence. However, his palette also includes a more contemporary and nuanced sensibility that is undeniably all his own. He is accompanied by two musicians skilled in the traditional piano jazz trio: Carlton Holmes on piano and Danton Boller on double bass.
