Original compositions punctuated by standards from Jimi Hendrix, Fela Kuti, Herbie Hancock and Dr. John, reinterpreted in an afro-jazz style. Alune Wade set out to record in West Africa the fruit of his research into the roots of jazz, extending the journey all the way to Louisiana, where this musical genre was born. In three stages of travel carried out in Nigeria, Senegal and New Orleans, Alune tells the story of the transmission of musical traditions from the African continent to the American continent, and the influence of brass instruments and jazz on contemporary African music.
