'Numen' is ALKALOID's third album and contains some of the band's most complex, thought-provoking, and insane ideas. The album is told from the perspective of an extraterrestrial deity who can reshape the entire galaxy with its demonic growls.
ALKALOID is still bound by its love of death metal: after all, it is a supergroup made up of founding members of OBSCURA, DARK FORTRESS, and SPAWN OF POSSESSION. But with 'Numen', the Bavarian outfit indulges in all sorts of experimentation, for example on the track "The Cambrian Explosion" which transitions from tech-death to seductive flows of jazz and flamenco.
ALKALOID is the mad scientist of metal, and with 'Numen', they have concocted a new explosive batch of progressive death metal.
