Description

Wonderland presents the most famous piano pieces by Edvard Grieg performed by one of the most promising young pianists of our generation, Alice Sara Ott. The album transports the listener into the world of trolls and elves, hills and fjords, through a selection of Grieg's works, his Lyric Pieces, as well as several piano versions of excerpts from Peer Gynt, to which is added one of the most famous works in the piano repertoire, Grieg's Piano Concerto in A minor, in a live recording for which she was joined by the excellent Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra conducted by Esa-Pekka Salonen. Alice has always been fascinated by Grieg's fantastical universe and by the fairy-tale creatures that lend their names to Grieg's musical miniatures. The origami butterflies featured on the album cover as well as in the video for To Spring were created by Alice herself.
