Description

«Imposture» is the third album by Alice Lewis, who for the first time sings in French.
The result of a collaboration with songwriter Alexandre Chatelard, it is a dialogue about love, which is always short of its loss for great romantics. This record evokes the French pop of the 1970s/80s, and sometimes draws its inspiration from chivalry and a fantasized Middle Ages, forming a resolutely modern whole.
Here, synthesizers of yesterday and today, acoustic and unusual instruments - such as the electronic koto - and elegant string orchestrations come together. A perfect setting for Alice Lewis's ethereal voice, this soundscape also accompanies the soft male voice of Alexandre Chatelard (on the tracks Amour Asymétrique, Un autre jour, Opéra drogue)
Longtime collaborators, Fred Pallem (conductor of the orchestra ‘Le Sacre du Tympan’, arranger and musician for Bernard Lavilliers, Julien Doré, Vanessa Paradis) signs here beautiful orchestral and instrumental parts, and sound engineer Bertrand Fresel (Toni Allen, La grande Sophie, Barbara Carlotti) ensures the recording, mixing, and co-production.
