In the Musica Callada, a large cycle of four volumes written between 1959 and 1967, Federico Mompou pushes his sober and stripped-down style to the extreme. With incredible inventiveness, each piece remains completely differentiated, the work maintains a very singular color unity. The piano becomes resonance, light, lament. Alice Ader has captured the entire interiority of Mompou's music and delivers a weightless version.
