For this new album, pianist Alexandre Tharaud opens the doors of his imaginary library, guiding us through the inexhaustible diversity of Bach's many faces. Here, he writes for his own hands, redrawing the immortal lines of the Siciliennes from the Organ Concerto and the Flute Sonata, as well as the Violin Aria from the Orchestral Suite. Not limiting himself to these gems, whose meditative purity resonates so particularly in our time, he also focuses on the variety of Bach's styles, painting a broad portrait of the composer's facets. This album reminds us of the special connection Alexandre Tharaud has maintained with Bach's music for many years. The album also includes some of Bach's landmark compositions: La Sicilienne, the famous Ave Maria Bach/Gounod, and the Adagio from the Keyboard Concerto, based on Alessandro Marcello's Adagio.
