Beethoven: The Piano Concertos
Description
After initial appearances on the ECM New Series in 2002 ('Odradek' first recordings of works by Israeli composer Gideon Lewensohn) and in 2012 (two solo recitals and a duo program with violinist Caroline Widmann), pianist Alexander Lonquich, alongside the Münchener Kammerorchester, takes on a major challenge here by performing the complete Beethoven piano concertos.Presented in chronological order, these fundamental works bear witness to the composer's evolution over two decades. In his own detailed liner notes, the German pianist describes these recordings as "a very special experience, both for the performers and for the listeners. The chronological order draws attention to the stylistic leaps in the compositions and allows the listener to discover Beethoven's evolution as the author of these creations that illustrate his pianistic virtuosity between 1790 and 1809." The concertos were recorded at the Rathausprunksaal in Landshut in January 2022.Buy Beethoven: The Piano Concertos at the best price
