Evangélion l'histoire de Jésus racontée aux enfants

Description

FIRST COMPLETE RECORDING Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco was of Jewish background but regularly composed on biblical themes. His meditation on the story of the New Testament is tender and simple music, moving between lyricism and powerful drama. The rarely heard epic begins with The Evangelization, continues with The Annunciation, and ends with The Last Words and The Resurrection. Composed in 1947, shortly after the death of the composer’s father, the work was probably conceived during a visit to the Acolman Convent in Mexico. This is the first complete recording.
