Description

After the success of his last album dedicated to works by Mozart, the oboist Albrecht Meyer turns to the talented Bach family. A genius that transcends generations and produces works from the styles of the late Renaissance, the Baroque, and Classicism serves as the common thread of 'Bach Generations'.
For this album recorded with the Berliner Barock Solisten and Gottfried von der Goltz, Albrecht Meyer has selected pieces from four members of the family: Johann Sebastian himself (1685-1750), Johann Christoph (1642-1703), Carl Philipp Emanuel (1714-1788), and Johann Christoph Friedrich (1732-1795). The transcription of a work by Gottfried Heinrich Stölzel, once attributed to J.S. Bach, is also among the recordings.
