Born in Indianola, Mississippi in 1923, Albert Nelson, a self-taught guitarist, settled in Forrest City, Arkansas. Inspired by the blues, he forged a unique style. His Gibson Flying V, "Lucy," elevated him to regional success before he shone at Stax Records.
