In a very short time, Albert Ayler and Don Cherry created a totally free music, lived in the moment. Ignoring rules and aesthetic boundaries, they played with their nerves on edge, welcoming mistakes as an integral part of creation. More than sixty years later, these recordings retain all their intensity and brilliance. This 4-LP box set brings together for the first time all the sessions from the autumn of 1964, including concerts at Jazzhus Montmartre in Copenhagen and a radio session recorded for VARA in the Netherlands. The sound has been fully remastered and compiled for the first time on vinyl. Ayler's historic quartet included Don Cherry (cornet), Gary Peacock (double bass), and Sunny Murray (drums).
