Back To Rhythm
Description
In 1975, heavily influenced by the sounds of the African scene, drummer Akira Ishikawa, better known in his home country as a jazz musician, leads a team of young musicians passionate about funk and jazz-rock. Back To Rhythm will be his last album influenced by the African continent. Built around covers of The Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel, Stevie Wonder, BT Express, and Average White Band, it would have made no sense without a very respectful cover of Fela Kuti. Festive rhythms and dances are the major elements of this fundamental album in the master's work. His discography includes over 20 albums released between 1969 and 1975, and this last one produced by Columbia remains Japan's best-kept treasure since its creator's passing in 2002. This reissue from Mr. Bongo is a great opportunity to finally acquire it at a decent price.Buy Back To Rhythm at the best price
