Akalé Wubé is a Parisian group wholeheartedly dedicated to the cause of Ethiopian groove from the 60s/70s. Since its creation in 2009, Akalé Wubé has passionately and tirelessly explored the musical treasures of Swingin' Addis. After several years immersed in a unique repertoire, building their sound through adventurous arrangements and original compositions; after numerous collaborations, two albums, over two hundred concerts, and a trip to Ethiopia, Akalé Wubé now offers its personal and powerful version of a fantasized Ethiopia. Thus, the group enjoys inventing bridges between Ethio-jazz and West African music of the seventies (Afrobeat), Jamaica (reggae), or even the New York scene of the 2010s; a rich melting pot with a guiding thread in the form of an obsession: speaking to the feet before speaking to the head, what some call groove, swing, or even "jawa jawa" in Amharic...
