AHMADS BLUES

Description

A native of Pittsburgh, Ahmad Jamal, affectionately nicknamed "the monster with two right hands," is a pianist now revered by all jazz lovers. However, this was not the case for most of his very long career, as critics shunned his genius, sometimes even labeling him a "cocktail pianist." His style, however, inspired Bill Evans, Herbie Hancock, and Miles Davis. This album is the recording of a live performance at the Spotlite Club in Washington D.C., in September 1958. The remastering preserves all the intensity of this performance featuring great standards, including Autumn Leaves, Cheek to Cheek, Let's Fall in Love… An excerpt from the ideal Fnac discography 2017.
