Adrian Sherwood teams up with the Speakers Corner Quartet and African Head Charge for a new four-track EP, "Barbican Heights", a project that explores the musical worlds of dub, jazz, electro, afrobeat and much more."Barbican Heights" was born from a spirit of collaboration, bringing together Adrian Sherwood, one of the most innovative and influential producers in the UK; African Head Charge, an iconic and long-standing member of the On-U Sound label; and the Speakers Corner Quartet, a rising group whose influence is essential to the contemporary British jazz scene.Recorded during a single day of creative spontaneity at Wicker Studios, this EP brings together the three artists, accompanied by Alex White (Primal Scream and Fat White Family), for semi-improvised reinterpretations of the African Head Charge classic "Wicked Kingdom Of This Earth", the Speakers Corner Quartet track "Topanga", as well as two new pieces composed especially for the occasion.
