Fly on the Wall is an AC/DC album released on June 28, 1985. It was recorded at Mountain Studios, in Montreux, Switzerland. Although it was a rather resounding commercial failure, Fly on the Wall showed a definite improvement in content (the form remained rather shaky, as self-production never really worked for the band), especially compared to the previous Flick of the Switch. The success was not complete, and the album never became a classic, but AC/DC was clearly on the right track. The album also has a rather unsavory reputation, as American serial killer Richard Ramirez, upon his arrest, confessed to having drawn inspiration from listening to hard rock records, and cited Fly on the Wall as a reference. This was a blow to the band.
