Since they began to wave the flag of German thrash in the 80s, Accuser has proven to be one of the most enduring forces in global metal. With eleven full-length albums behind them, they return in 2020 with their latest masterpiece: a stunning collection that captures everything that makes the band so vital, produced by longtime collaborator Martin Buchwalter (who has worked on five Accuser albums) and mastered by Dan Swanö. "We stay fresh thanks to curiosity," says singer/guitarist Frank Thoms. "Writing new songs allows you to stay fresh, and it’s always exciting to see how things evolve and how the listener reacts afterward. This process never becomes boring. It’s always thrilling and invites you to try new things." The result is a dynamic album that is deeply rooted in thrash but still takes the listener through different moods and styles, further solidifying Accuser's status as a leader rather than a follower. The return of guitarist René Schütz to the band—who played on several Accuser records before 2011—has only raised the stakes for Accuser. The combination of these elements that hark back to previous Accuser releases—without repeating or copying themselves—along with Schütz's return, led Thoms to believe that this album "must be called Accuser."
