Description

The Californian ska punk-hardcore band 8 KALACAS will release their first album, titled Fronteras, on March 25, 2022 via Atomic Fire Records. The combo describes itself as the godfather of a new style called skacore, blending ska punk, rock and hardcore metal. The line-up consists of Sr Kalaca and Getse on vocals, Adam on drums, Sick on bass, Steve on guitar, Choriz on trumpet and Gio on trombone. Formed in Orange County in 2003, the fertile ground of the region that also brought us SOCIAL DISTORTION and AVENGED SEVENFOLD, 8 KALACAS are the precursors of a new era. After establishing their unique brand of metallic hardcore, ska and traditional Mexican elements in California and the rest of the United States, the huge seven-piece brotherhood is ready to take on the rest of the world. Fronteras, their third album and the first for the brand-new Atomic Fire Records label, is like a snowball for the rest of the international metal-hardcore scene: an album so fierce and unique that you simply cannot resist succumbing to the thunderous grooves, malicious riffs and contagious trumpet-trombone madness that these guys unleash vigorously as if there were no tomorrow. Taking their Latin roots and Californian upbringing and ingeniously twisting both into this mastodon of an album, 8 KALACAS truly bring something new and exciting to the table.
