For three decades, 1349 has embodied the original spirit of black metal. After emerging from the Oslo underground scene in the late 90s, the band has played at major European festivals such as Wacken Open Air and Hellfest, and has toured internationally with bands like Celtic Frost, Cannibal Corpse, and Carcass. Following their eighth album ‘The Wolf & The King’, the Norwegians are preparing to release a new live record.
From the very first notes of ‘Winter Mass’, 1349 unleashes hell. During a concert recorded at Parkteatret in their hometown, the band conjures a series of apocalyptic spells covering their entire career. Classics like “Sculptor of Flesh” unleash unbridled madness, while the recent "Striding the Chasm" races at a frantic pace that only artist Kim Diaz Holm, who drew the album cover while headbanging in the mosh pit, could capture.
After more than 30 years, 1349’s firepower shows no signs of waning, and ‘Winter Mass’ is the best testament to that.
For fans of MARDUK, CELTIC FROST, BEHEMOTH, MAYHEM, IMMORTAL.
