About

Bad Religion, Forty years of sharp Californian punk rock from Los Angeles.

12 vinyls including seminal albums on Epitaph; original pressings like 'Suffer' fetch top prices.

Founded by Greg Graffin, Jay Bentley, Jay Ziskrout, and Brett Gurewitz, Bad Religion launched their debut EP on Epitaph Records in 1981, a label started by Gurewitz. Their first full album, 'How Could Hell Be Any Worse?' (1982), established their presence in the punk scene despite lineup changes during recording. After experimenting with a psychedelic sound on 1983's 'Into the Unknown', they returned to punk with 1986's 'Suffer', which solidified their influence on California punk.

Subsequent albums such as 'No Control' (1989), 'Against the Grain' (1990), and 'Recipe For Hate' (1993) expanded their fanbase. The band faced lineup shifts and label changes, moving briefly to Atlantic Records, before returning to Epitaph.
