Eurodisco Vinyl Records: Moroder, Cerrone, Boney M. and the 12-Inch Era
Eurodisco on vinyl: what this collection covers
This page brings together the Eurodisco vinyl records listed on Vinyles.com, with offers from several partner stores for each title. Eurodisco is disco as European producers reshaped it from the mid-70s on: more synthesizers, pop melodies and productions built for the dance floor. You will find classic names like Cerrone, Boney M. and Santa Esmeralda, Italo disco acts such as Koto and Radiorama, and current artists who carry that sound forward, including L'ImpΓ©ratrice. If you are hunting for a specific mix or pressing, comparing offers side by side is the quickest way to spot the right copy.
Essential Eurodisco records
Working in Munich, Italian producer Giorgio Moroder produced Donna Summer's "I Feel Love" (1977), whose fully synthesized pulse changed dance music. The same year Cerrone released "Supernature", following "Love in C Minor" (1976). Producer Frank Farian launched Boney M., whose "Nightflight to Venus" (1978) was packed with hits across Europe.
Space's "Magic Fly", Baccara's "Yes Sir, I Can Boogie", Santa Esmeralda's take on "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood" and Sheila & B. Devotion round out the picture. In the early 80s, Italo disco pushed the sound further with drum machines and colder synths, and in the mid-80s Modern Talking, the duo of Dieter Bohlen and Thomas Anders, took Eurodisco back up the European charts.
12-inch singles, LPs and reissues: what to buy
Eurodisco lives on 12-inch singles: fewer tracks per side means wider grooves, more level and stronger bass, plus extended mixes you will not find on the album. LPs often run tracks together without gaps, built for dancing. Original pressings are still plentiful on the used market and often affordable, while recent reissues help with titles that have become scarce or expensive.
