Johnny Cash

Country is an iconic American musical genre, blending catchy melodies, acoustic guitars, and stories rooted in everyday life. From its traditional roots to modern trends, it conveys authenticity and emotion.
Browse a wide range of Country vinyl records available for sale and let yourself be carried away by the warm and timeless world of this music.
Country vinyl records carry the genre the way it was made: vocals up front, acoustic guitars, pedal steel and fiddle, cut in studios from Nashville to Bakersfield and Texas. This selection spans the whole story of the genre, from the pioneers to today's songwriters, with names such as Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Marty Robbins, Jimmie Rodgers, The Everly Brothers, Wanda Jackson, The Mavericks and Jerry Jeff Walker. On LP, classic country albums keep their original shape, usually short and tightly sequenced, with cover art that is part of the music's identity.
For 1950s to 1970s classics, original US pressings on Columbia, RCA Victor, Capitol or Decca are still easy to find used, but condition varies a lot because these records were played constantly. Check whether a copy is mono or stereo, since many late-1950s and 1960s albums were issued in both.
For worry-free listening, recent reissues are a solid option, 180-gram or not. Bear Family Records is a reference for deeply annotated box sets and anthologies, and Light in the Attic has reissued lesser-known country records. Colored or limited editions do nothing for the sound: they are purely a collector's choice.
The roots lead to Jimmie Rodgers and the Carter Family, both recorded at the 1927 Bristol sessions, then to Hank Williams and Patsy Cline. Johnny Cash started at Sun Records before releasing "At Folsom Prison" (1968). Marty Robbins's "Gunfighter Ballads and Trail Songs" (1959) is one of the great western ballad records. The Bakersfield sound runs through Buck Owens and Merle Haggard, outlaw country through Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson, whose "Red Headed Stranger" (1975) is a classic. Dolly Parton's "Jolene" (1974) and Loretta Lynn round out the core, while Chris Stapleton's "Traveller" (2015) and Kacey Musgraves's "Golden Hour" (2018) reached a new generation of listeners.
Country is still moving, between Americana, bluegrass and Texas songwriters: Buddy Miller, The SteelDrivers and Hayden Pedigo are a few examples in the selection. Each product page on Vinyles.com lists offers from several partner stores for the same record, whether you want a cheap reissue of a classic or a new limited edition.
