Matador Records remains the vanguard of American indie rock (Pavement, Interpol, Queens of the Stone Age, Kurt Vile). In the UK, Domino (Arctic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand) and Rough Trade (The Smiths, The Strokes, Parquet Courts) uphold an unwavering artistic standard.
