After the band’s breakup in 1997, Michael Gira decided to reform SWANS in 2010, around the album "My Father Will Guide Me up a Rope To The Sky". Also at the head of the label Young God Records (Devendra Banhart, Akron/Family, Larkin Grimm, James Blacksaw, Windsor For The Derby, Calla, Lisa Germano .), Michael Gira therefore put his Angels Of Lights project on standby and then went on tour with SWANS. Announced in June by the double live album "We Rose From Your Bed With the Sun in Our Head", here is the new studio album, "The Seer", which, according to Gira, is a culmination of his last 30 years, across all projects. This album is presented as a work in progress, with the excitement of reshaping and rebuilding the songs at every stage, between their composition on acoustic guitar, their recording as a band and soon their expression on stage. And it took 2 CDs (3LPs) to fit in all their friends who came to take part in the project, including: Karen O. (Yeah Yeah Yeahs), Jarboe (a historic member of SWANS from 85 to 98!), Akron/Family, Ben Frost, Alan Sparhawk and Mimi Parker of Low, and Grasshoper of Mercury Rev (aka Sean Mackowiak).
