The second album by Bulgarian-born English composer Dobrinka Tabakova on ECM, Sun Triptych, unfolds an expressive palette even broader than her first, String Paths, which was acclaimed by critics. This is evident in her compositions for piano and viola ("Whispered Lullaby", "Suite in Jazz Style"), for violin and hurdy-gurdy ("Spinning a Yarn") and for string orchestra ("Fantasy Homage to Schubert", "Organum Light", "Sun Triptych"), performed by renowned soloists and the BBC Concert Orchestra.
