"Slip" is the debut studio album by this New York post-hardcore band. Criminally overlooked and featuring a sublime voice, Quicksand draws from within for each song, invoking the power behind every great guitar riff. After a sharp drum roll of greetings, "Fazer" opens the album with an irresistible groove worthy of being a mosh pit classic! From the opening "Fazer" to "Dine Alone" and "Too Official," the music never falters and maintains a consistency that few bands can achieve. Reminiscent of bands like Fugazi and Helmet with perhaps a touch of Kyuss, Quicksand is a guitar-driven angst that is strangely inspiring and accessible. It is probably the best non-Fugazi post-hardcore record ever released.
