Opeth, the most respected and admired progressive metal band from Sweden, is releasing their 10th studio album, titled "Heritage," their third with Roadrunner. "Heritage" follows Watershed released in 2008 and Ghost Reveries (2005), which each brought the avant-garde band the best reviews of their career. The album was produced by Mikael Akerfeldt and mixed with Porcupine Tree's frontman, Steven Wilson. This new album is expected to surprise many fans as it takes a direction that the band had already touched upon for the album "Damnation," while emphasizing the trait: free of all death metal, "Heritage" is a tribute to 70s prog-rock. Travis Smith, a long-time collaborator, also worked with Mikael to create, design, and realize the album's artwork. "Heritage" will be released in several configurations that will certainly suit the legion of Opeth fans, known for their collector's tendencies: a standard edition, a special edition full of bonuses.
