This release marks the 30th anniversary of the band Old 97! The highly anticipated new album has already been praised by author Stephen King, who told his 7 million followers: "It's great." Old 97's 13th studio album is the result of what singer/guitarist Rhett Miller calls a "devolution." "Even though I want us to calm down and grow up, the songs that suited this album were mostly big, loud, brutal, and dirty." Produced by Tucker Martine, with contributions from Peter Buck (R.E.M.) and Scott McCaughey (The Minus 5), "American Primitive" is gloriously raucous, revealing a band more in tune than ever with the raw, carefree energy of timeless rock-and-roll.
