Under the Italian skies, the young Haendel chisels the human soul into music, offering Roman palaces secular cantatas of incandescent virtuosity. This theater of passions unfolds the thousand faces of love: from the torments of the vertiginous Il delirio amoroso, to the lightness of Sans y penser, to the chains of Un'alma innamorata and the laments of Crudel tiranno amor. Soprano Marie Lys lends her pearly timbre to the heroines of the “dear Saxon.” Under the baton of Gaétan Jarry, the Orchestre de l'Opéra Royal revive this Baroque ardor with sovereign elegance.
