D'abord guitariste pour divers artistes (Nina Morato, Sinclair…), Matthieu Chédid begins writing songs and officially adopts the name M in 1997, with this first album. But it is not at the point of the sword, like Zorro, that he signs his songs, but with a fertile imagination populated by comics and guitar heroes.
Nathalie, from the group Billy Ze Kick, joins him to write the poetic and offbeat lyrics of « Baptême ». M's so high-pitched voice and his arrangements, full of finesse and feeling, definitively seal a very personal universe. Add to that a wild comic-book-inspired look and M establishes himself as a young singer to watch in the future. Besides, from the very first listen, the impression of having discovered a great talent is obvious.
