Somewhere In Time from 1986 is the penultimate album of the legendary Iron Maiden output from the 80s after the iconic Powerslave from 1984 and their live album from 1985 Live After Death. Their sixth album in total, the 8-song set produced by Martin Birch, features the band incorporating for the first time more progressive arrangements and synthesizers, all without giving up the heavy metal trademarks they pioneered and that their fans love. The tour de force of the opening track "Caught Somewhere In Time" sets the tone here while the singles and flagship albums "Wasted Years" and "Stranger in a Strange Land" once again highlight why Iron Maiden was truly in a league of its own at the time!
