Filmed in HD and mixed in 5.1 by Kevin Shirley, Maiden’s producer, “Flight 666” was directed by Scot McFadyen and Sam Dunn (“Metal: A Headbanger's Story” and the recent “Global Metal”). “Flight 666” was filmed during the first leg of the “Somewhere Back In The Time” tour, during which Iron Maiden traveled 70,000 kilometers around the globe and played 23 concerts on 5 continents in 45 days. One of the stars of the film is unquestionably Ed Force One, the band’s customized Boeing, which transported the entire crew and 12 tons of equipment from city to city, and whose pilot is none other than Bruce Dickinson, Maiden’s singer. “Flight 666”, which takes its name from the official flight number assigned by the airline, reveals the genesis of this unique tour. The documentary also gives pride of place to the band’s live performance footage. As a special bonus for fans, Iron Maiden has included a second DVD (also featured in the Blu-ray menu) offering a full concert from the tour. “Flight 666” will also be available as a double CD, double vinyl and legal download.
