His passion for tango inspired the lyric singer Erwin Schrott to create the album "Rojotango," awarded the Echo Klassik Prize in 2012. It features compositions by Astor Piazzolla, Carlos Cobián, Carlos Gardel, and Pablo Ziegler, as well as popular songs from Argentina and Brazil, music he has known since his earliest childhood and that he associates with his native Uruguay.
