Envy, Japanese legends of post-hardcore, remain a dominant force after 32 years of career. The band, with roots in thrash metal and screamo, has evolved by incorporating elements of post-rock and shoegaze. Their 8th album, Eunoia, is a true turning point, perfectly blending aggression and exaltation. This opus reflects a feeling of latent power in the face of an increasingly fractured and divided world. For fans of This Will Destroy You, Isis, Mogwai, Jesu, Mono, Eunoia is a must.
