Enveloped in mysticism and driven by the life-giving power of low notes, the heavy psychedelic rock/metal band Druids returns with their fourth studio album "Shadow Work". With a title referencing one of the main ideas of the famous psychoanalyst Carl Gustav Jung, the trio from Des Moines, Iowa, presents a wild, riff-laden journey through the desolate lands of the subconscious. Combining sonic prowess and psychedelic heaviness, Druids serves its grooves with a resolutely forward-looking attitude, taking their wizardly style of psychedelic stoner rock and sludge metal to a new level of sophistication. Emerging from the murky waters of the pandemic years, Druids has created a vast opus that offers an experience at the interface of expression and introspection. An enlightening blend of psychedelic rock, atmospheric sludge, and classic heavy metal that is both deeply rooted and refreshing.
